What that means for a season

4 a week — three practices and a game — is about 3 weeks a box.

How this is calculated

An estimate, not a measurement. It models carbohydrate burn during intermittent high-intensity sport — scaled by body mass and by how hard the sport runs — against the carbohydrate a young athlete has readily available after several hours without a real meal. The fade point is where roughly 70% of that available carbohydrate is gone, which published work associates with declining sprint output rather than total exhaustion. One bar adds 33g, discounted by how close to the start it is eaten. Individual athletes vary enormously — use it to start a conversation, not as a prescription.

Formula V31

Thirty-one formulas. One a kid finished.

Handed to actual teams after actual practice, until they asked for another.

01 / Carbohydrate

33g, from food

Date syrup and honey, not corn syrup. The fuel a kid burns in the next ninety minutes.

02 / Electrolytes

400mg potassium

Five times a 20oz sports drink. Plus 220mg sodium and magnesium malate.

03 / The list

Ten ingredients

Two are electrolytes. The rest you'd find in a kitchen.

04 / Timing

Built for the hour before

Not a protein bar, not a candy bar. Dosed for the warmup.

Ingredients: Sweet white rice flour, date syrup, peanut butter, honey, chocolate chips (organic cocoa liquor, organic dates, organic cocoa butter), date sugar, potassium citrate, salt, cinnamon, magnesium malate. Contains peanuts and honey.

Why Routine

There's a window before every game — locker room to whistle.

That's not the time to guess.

Preparation plus trust gets you composure.

01

Preparation

Real fuel, timed right, for the 60–90 minutes before you play.

02

Trust

It just works. No hype, no guessing — the same thing every time, so you're not thinking about it on game day.

03

Composure

You don't wonder if you did enough. You just show up ready — and stay that way.

Routine's not your edge. It's the thing you stop worrying about, so you can go play.

Built for the minutes that matter.

Common questions

Before you buy

Is it a protein bar?

No. It's a pregame bar — carbohydrate and electrolytes for the hour before a game, not protein for after one.

Why is there sugar in it?

Because the carbohydrate is the job. It comes from dates and honey rather than corn syrup, and it arrives with 400mg of potassium. The full label is on this page.

When should they eat it?

Roughly an hour before warmups. For anything over ninety minutes, a second one at the half.

What ages is it for?

Ten to twenty-four — middle school through college. The amount an athlete needs changes a lot across that range, which is what the calculator is for.
